Popego for Developers

We live in a world of user generated content with blogs, wikis and forums working as the engines of modern culture. This evolution of the web has increased the need for a clear and believable way of knowing who's who on the online world.

Popego aims to become an open platform that will let you know more about the users that are part of your community or website.

Widget Interface

Popego is based on two simple concepts:

  • Make accessible from a single place all the public info a user has online.
  • Let our user profiles be present anywhere online.

We don't want to create a walled garden of user identities or yet another social network. Our main goal is to create a more credible web by bringing relevant information about people online. That's why we want our technology to be easily embeddable on any website and we are focused on creating the best widgets.

We are currently working on many widget variations that include customizable features that fill the different aesthetical and functional needs for blogs, forums and websites.

Popego API

Still under development, we are building an open API that will let developers connect their services with Popego. This will permit websites have a deeper understanding of who is visiting them, which are their interests and let users easily communicate with each other.

Plugins for Blogs, Forums and Wikis

Meaningful interactions over the web occur on blogs, forums and widgets. Users build their reputations and share their knowledge on the communities they like. Our technology wants to let users take the information they love to talk about, anywhere online. So when someone comments on a blog or a forum, you get to see more than just the username.

That's why we are working on plugins that will smoothly integrate Popego with the top engines for web content.

Support for OpenID

As a standard for user authentication that's being adopted by the main online services, we believe that OpenID technology easily adapts to the nature of Popego. We are strongly supportive of this technology and currently working on its implementation on our service.

Integration with OpenSocial

We want to open the web's doors as wide as possible. The intercommunication of web services will lead to empower the users and not the other way around. That's why we are integrating our technology with initiatives such as OpenSocial that let social networks know each other.
